Analysis of double page spread

My double page analysis showed that by involving other artists in the pages about a different band gathers attention from other audiences, therefore increasing interest and sales.

I analysed a double page interview with a band called Ndubz in Top of the Pops magazine.

Audience Research

I have used a questionnaire to research into my audience and to see who i would like to appeal to with my magazine. I will interview a couple of my participants in my questionnaires to see how they would like the magazine to appeal to them and help me do so through my magazine.

Case Study Research

For this is chose Muzik Magazine.

this helped me with my main task because it helped me understand how much thought goes into a magazine, how they intially think of an audience and then how will they appeal to that market etc.

Preliminary Task

In the preliminary task we had to produce a questionnaire, audience evaluation from the questionnaire and a front cover for a school or college magazine including a contents page. We practised different photography techniques and editting, this included long shots mid shots close ups and different editting for each image. We also carried out alot of research in to the music industry.


We created a questionnaire to let us see what information we would need to know to produce a magazine that would appleal to the intended audience, without just using what we would like to see in a magazine but considering what other people and the majority of the surveyed people would enjoy in a magazine.

We took our own photos, 2 mid shots, 2 long shots and 2 close ups. This helped us get an idea of the front cover and how much effort goes into that one photo. Things such as the position of the face, the background, lighting and effects.
