Evaluation Comments

1. My media project has developed the forms on real media magazines because i have produced it, it has not been done on a high tech computer.

2. My magazine represents younger more indie social groups because it includes more chatty language on the front, its very informal and the picture is in an indie-pop style.

3. Younger audiences for maybe 14/15 year olds to around 25/27 years olds as indie music caters to a range people.

4. Ive attracted my audience by placing a male on the front. This would attract girls becuase theyre ionterests would be in the lead singer of bands and they're looks but boys can also identify with the malke on the front.

5. I have learnt that technology will not always do and produce the final product first desired but will produce a good standard of work.

6. I have also learnt that from the preliminary to always make a detailed plan and know what you want to produce before you start producing it as things do not go to plan.

Evaluation

Looking back I think I did a good job on my work. I feel that i put in alot of effort, however if i could change things i would.

-I would think about compositions of my photos more
-I think my contents could have been better however the programme i used for that didnt allow overlapping with text and photos so i think it doesnt give it a finished look.
-I would have had more relevant questions in my questionnaire to enable more knowledge when making my magazine.

Audience Research

Just like in my prelim task i used a questionnaire to research my target audience. This helped me make alot of decisions that i would normally use my own personal taste for i.e the colour scheme.

Colour schemes

In my questionnaire I asked what colour schemes would be preferable to be used. The answer that came back highest was 'black white and red' so that is why i decided to used these particular colours.

Front cover, double page and contents

Pictures,

I knew i wanted a male on my front cover as i thought i would know how to make the front cover look best with a male than a female.

I used a friend in my class and he posed as a singer for me. I dressed him in a suit and thought his curly hair would go well with the 'indie' band member look i was going for.

I made him smile for the picture because i think it makes the magazine have an appealing look to it, his smile makes it inviting. Also reflects the story on the double page spread.

Text
I struggled with the name of my magazine, so i felt i'd go with an original just 'Aiden uncovered' however the programme i used would not let me line the text up properly on each page and therefore created an appearance issue.

I spent the most time writing the article about 'Aiden' and planned to set it out like and interview, and did so.

Contents,
I planned this by looking at several magazines and their contents pages to get a feel of how they give the information needed and how the layout is appropriate the each magazine.

Planning main task

I made a few sketches of how id like my front cover to look like.

I halso made a plan on the computer of how the text should be positioned around the actual picture. This helped me think about the composition of the front cover.

Although i didnt make a plan of how id like my contents and double page spread to me, looking back i would like to have done so because without a plan it is very hard to work out where images and text look best.
